THCM Origin

THCM (11-Nor-Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol-9-Carboxylic Acid {Carboxy-THC}) is a cannabis byproduct first discovered in 1997.  It hasn’t even been isolated cannabis yet, and so that technically, there’s no proof that it even exists in raw cannabis.  Rather, it has been identified in cannabis smoke, and is used as a biomarker to confirm that a fetus has been exposed to cannabis while in the womb.

THCM’s Psychoactive Properties

As of now, we don’t actually know about THCM’s psychoactive properties.  Whether or not the cannabinoid is intoxicating has yet to be confirmed, but one thing that we do know is that if it is psychoactive, the effects are likely to be extremely mild.  And, without knowing whether or not it’s psychoactive, we don’t know if the potential high would be more sedating, euphoric, motivating, etc.

HHC-P/HXC-P Origins 

HHC-P/HXC-P, or hexahydrocannabiphorol, is a newer cannabinoid that’s been on the market for less than a year.  It doesn’t actually exist in nature.  Rather, it’s a semi-synthesized cannabinoid that comes from modifying HXC, or hexahydrocannabinol, which does naturally exist in raw hemp.  HXC’s effects are known to be almost identical similar to the effects of delta 9 THC because it’s actually delta 9’s hydrogenated analog, and HHC-P/HXC-P is produced by adding 2 carbon atoms to its alkyl side chain, which lets the cannabinoid bind to CB1 receptors in the brain a lot more efficiently, resulting in far more powerful effects.

HHC-P/HXC-P’s Psychoactive Properties

With HHC-P/HXC-P, know that you’re in for a super potent high, since the cannabinoid was specifically invented to be a more intoxicating version of HXC.  It’s actually one of the most psychoactive cannabinoids in existence, with some saying that it’s more powerful than THC-P, which is considered the most intoxicating naturally occurring cannabinoid of all.  HHC-P/HXC-P is probably about 10x as strong as traditional HXC, and those who do use it say the high induces powerful feelings of euphoria.

HHC-P/HXC-P is sought-after primarily for recreational purposes, as the potency of its euphoric high is very desirable to many enthusiasts.

HHC-P/HXC-P’s Legality 

HHC-P/HXC-P is a cannabinoid that’s federally legal, because it fully complies with the Farm Bill, too, just like THCM, but it’s banned in the same 19 states as THCM, being a THC isomer.
