5 Severe Delta 7 THC Side Effects You Must Know

Did you know that delta 7 THC is an incredibly new cannabinoid?  So new in fact, it’s not even on the market yet.  A synthesized form of THC, delta 7 doesn’t seem to be intoxicating, but does cause a soothing body effect, and might even be useful against things like muscle spasms and physical discomfort.  But, given how different delta 7 is from other forms of THC, are there any side effects people should be worried about?

Are There Any Side Effects When Taking Delta 7 THC?

There hasn’t been a safety profile released on delta 7 THC yet, but given the fact that it’s derived from THC, it shouldn’t be harmful in any sort of way.  Still, high doses of delta 7 may cause the same side effects associated with all cannabinoids – in particular, these ones below.

#1: Delta 7 May Cause Dry Mouth

Dry mouth is reported frequently with pretty much all psychoactive cannabinoids.  Commonly referred to as “cottonmouth”, it’s not actually caused by dehydration, which many mistakenly believe.  Dry mouth comes from the relationship between the cannabinoid and cannabinoid receptors that control our salivary glands.  And, fortunately, it is easily solved with a nice glass of water.

#2: Delta 7 THC May Cause Dry Eyes

Cannabinoids also interact with cannabinoid receptors that regulate the moisture levels in our eyes, which is why it’s common for the eyes get very dry when they use certain THC cannabinoids.  The eyes may appear bloodshot as a result, but some lubricating eye drops can help a lot with this common, harmless side effect.

#3: Delta 7 Could Increase Appetite

Delta 7 may cause “the munchies” like delta 8 THC and delta 9 THC, although that’s not confirmed.  Most cannabinoids have appetite-boosting properties, and this side effect isn’t cause for concern in any way.  The effect usually hits the user about halfway through the high and may last for a bit after the high has worn off.

#4: Delta 7 Might Cause Dizziness

A common side effect caused by takin a very high dose of a cannabinoid is dizziness and lightheadedness.  While actually passing out is rare, it can be uncomfortable just the same.  We don’t know if delta 7 can cause this side effect, but we do know that it’s not just associated with THC cannabinoids – some people report this effect after taking heavy amounts of cannabidiol (CBD).

#5: Delta 7 May Lower Blood Pressure Levels

Another side effect people can get from all cannabinoids is a mild drop in blood pressure, especially if they’re using the cannabinoid for the first time.  That can contribute to the dizziness/lightheadedness we described earlier, and also cause an increase in heartrate that’s not actually cause for concern.  If this does occur, you don’t really need to do anything about this but simply wait it out.

Bottom Line: Side Effect with Delta 7 THC May Happen, But They’re Not Serious

Even though delta 7 THC isn’t available yet, its side effect profile has yet to be determined.  But, given the fact that delta 7 is similar to delta 9 chemically speaking, safe to guess then, that the above side effects apply, as they do to pretty much all cannabinoids.  Overall, it’s very likely that delta-7’s potential side effects are mild and temporary, and that they’re more likely to occur if it’s consumed in very high doses.

Now, by sticking to high-quality delta-7 products made by a trusted brand like Binoid, you have a better chance of avoiding/accidentally consuming any questionable additives that can come with their own host of unwanted side effects.
