What is the Difference Between HXC, HXC-O, and HXC-P Cannabinoid?

HXC, aka hexahydrocannabinol, took the hemp world by storm when it emerged on the market a little over a year ago.  Now, there are two new cannabinoids that were both developed through chemically modifying the naturally occurring HXC cannabinoid: HXC-O and HXC-P.  Each of these 3 cannabinoids offers a distinctive level of potency that matters quite a lot when it comes to the high that it can provide.

We know that keeping track of all of these new hemp derivatives can be tricky, so we want to offer a clear breakdown of what HXC, HXC-O, and HXC-P can bring to the table.  This way, you’ll have a much clearer understanding of what each one can provide, and which of the 3 is most likely to satisfy your unique cannabinoid needs.

HXC (Hexahydrocannabinol)

How it’s Made: HXC is the only naturally occurring cannabinoid of the 3, and it has the distinction of being found in the seeds and pollen of the hemp plant.  HXC is a hydrogenated analog of delta 9 THC (delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol), containing an extra hydrogen atom, and this significantly enhances its chemical stability, which may increase its bioavailability.  HXC is known to mirror the effects of delta 9 THC, as the cannabinoids are almost identical, and that’s a big part of its appeal.

Psychoactive Effects: HXC’s high is the mildest of the 3 cannabinoids we’re discussing today.  Its high is slightly milder than that of delta 9 THC, but not much.  If you’re new to the world of psychoactive cannabinoids, HXC is the best starting point compared to the other 2, as it’s more friendly to those who have a low tolerance.  The high, like delta 9’s, can offer an uplifting effect on mood that helps ease away stress, while being fairly hazy, like delta 9.

Non-Psychoactive Effects: Like most new cannabinoids on the market, HXC hasn’t yet been tested by researchers for properties that pertain to things like pain, anxiety, sleep, appetite, etc.  But, HXC seems to act just like delta 9 THC, which means that it’s not surprising that people who use HXC often report getting relief from things like nausea, low mood, poor appetite, physical discomfort, and more.

HXC-O (Hexahydrocannabinol-O Acetate)

How it’s Made: HXC-O is a semi-synthesized form of HXC, as the HXC cannabinoid is combined with an acetate (acetic anhydride) to modify its molecular structure.  This is the same process used to convert THC into THC-O, another very popular, powerful cannabinoid.  This process helps the cannabinoid attach more efficiently to the brain’s CB1 receptors that are responsible for the high we get from cannabis, to ultimately make the cannabinoid’s effects more powerful.

Psychoactive Effects: HXC-O’s high is stronger than that of HXC by design, although the exact potency is a bit debatable. Ultimately, the general consensus is that HXC-O is 1.5 times as intoxicating as HXC.  HXC-O’s high is reported to offer euphoric, mood-lifting properties, and its body high may be quite strong as well.

Non-Psychoactive Effects: Like HXC, HXC-O is new to the market, and was only invented within the last couple of years.  Because of that, researchers haven’t yet gotten their hands on it to explore its potential benefits, as is the case with HXC.  Beyond its psychoactive abilities, we don’t know what kind of therapeutic uses it can offer.  But, anecdotally, people who use it say that it offers relief from physical discomfort, nausea and stress, which isn’t surprising considering the fact that the cannabinoid is just a stronger form of HXC, which we’ve already talked about in terms of its potential uses.

HXC-P (Hexahydrocannabiphorol)

How it’s Made: HXC-P is the newest of the 3 “H” cannabinoids, and like HXC-O, it’s a semi-synthesized cannabinoid.  To make HXC-P, carbon atoms are added to the cannabinoid’s alkyl side chain, to help it attach to CB1 receptors more strongly, which results in a far more potent cannabinoid.

Psychoactive Effects: HXC-P is the most powerful of all when it comes to its psychoactive effects.  It may be about 10 times as intoxicating as HXC, which is similar to the difference between delta 9 THC and THC-P, with the latter being a naturally occurring cannabinoid that HXC-P is based off of.  The high seems to be incredibly euphoric as well, similarly to THC-P.

Non-Psychoactive Effects:  HXC-P happens to be the cannabinoid we know the least about, as it’s the newest of the 3.  But, again, we can draw some conclusions based on its relationship to other cannabinoids.  HXC is an analog of delta 9 that seems to offer basically identical effects.  And, HXC-P is simply a much, much stronger form of HXC.  So, one could guess that HXC-P offers the same effects as HXC, only stronger, like effects related to nausea, physical discomfort, mood, appetite, and so on.  And, anecdotally, people are reporting all of these potential benefits, which is handy as we await studies to come out.

Which of the 3 “H” Cannabinoids is Right for You?

Ultimately, HXC, HXC-O, and HXC-P are all very worthwhile cannabinoids that can deliver amazingly satisfying effects.  The real difference between the 3 is their potency, which matters most when it comes to the high of each one.  If you’re a beginner, we recommend starting with HXC, and working your way up the potency ladder, so to speak.

The good news is that you can find all 3 of these cannabinoids in a wide variety of product forms at Binoid.  Binoid’s HXC, HXC-O, and HXC-P products are all formulated with clean ingredients and lab-tested cannabinoid distillates, sold fresh to give you nothing but the very best cannabinoid experience possible.  Come check out our awesome hemp-based products today!
