How to Aid the Side Effects of HHC-O Cannabinoid

Although HHC-O-Acetate (HHC-O) is not the most potent psychoactive cannabinoid derived from the hemp plant, for many people with little experience with THC, it can still be very powerful, nonetheless.  One thing that we know about any intoxicating substance is that it’s all too easy to take a little more than intended, and end up being, well, extremely high.

Sometimes, that can come with mild side effects that aren’t cause for real concern but can still be unpleasant.  Let’s talk about how to offset those side effects so you can ride a euphoric wave without any disruption.

Can HHC-O’s Side Effects Be Dangerous?

Anyone with a low tolerance and/or high sensitivity to psychoactive cannabinoids may get worried that taking too much will lead to disastrous consequences.  The thing that is important to keep in mind is that these cannabinoids are nontoxic to adult human bodies, and so you will not experience life-threatening side effects because you got too high.  These cannabinoids are well tolerated by the human body, and then metabolize relatively quickly to leave the system in a short period of time.

We know that getting too high can make you worry that something is wrong – maybe your heart is suddenly racing, you feel dizzy, or you feel so out of it that you’re afraid you’ll feel that way forever.  But, just remember that your body can handle these cannabinoids because you have an endocannabinoid system (ECS), which prevents toxic effects from occurring.

Note: Poorly made HHC-O products, such as those that use low-grade HHC-O-Acetate, have a purity level below 90%, use other cheap ingredients & fillers that’re mixed with the HHC-O, and/or simply fake HHC-O products, do bring with them a higher chance of not only different side effects, but the potential to actually get sick after using that said supposedly “authentic or fresh HHC-O product”.

HHC-O Side-Effects You Need to Be Aware of

There are some more temporary, mild side effects that you might experience though, due to a low tolerance.  While simply taking a moderate dose according to the label can prevent them from happening, they can happen on occasion, and it’s best to have an idea of what you can do should a side effect impede your ability to enjoy the HHC-O product you’ve taken.

Side Effect #1: Anxiety

HHC-O has been known to cause anxiety in some people.  How come?  Well, because HHC-O activates the identical areas of the brain just like other psychoactive cannabinoids do.  These areas are in charge of triggering feelings of fear and anxiety.

The Solution: If you’re prone to anxiety, it’s best to avoid HHC-O altogether.  If you do decide to try it, go with an extremely small dose and see how you react.

Side Effect #2: Dry Mouth

Cottonmouth is an incredibly common side effect, even among heavy cannabinoid users it’s not dangerous in the slightest, but it is annoying.  Cottonmouth is not caused actually by dehydration, but rather by the cannabinoid’s effects on cannabinoid receptors that regulate the flow of saliva.  The effect is short-lived, but you’ll likely want to do something about it regardless, because having a dry mouth is well… just not fun.

The Solution: Simple – drink some water, or any fluid for that matter.  All that you need to do to counteract dry mouth is to give your mouth moisture, so keep a glass or bottle of water nearby and drink as needed.  This will also activate the salivary glands so that you can produce more saliva.

Side Effect #3: Dry Eyes

Most of us know exactly what dry eyes feel and look like when high.  Usually, the eyes turn red, and feel as dry as a desert.  This effect isn’t just annoying in terms how it feels, but most of us don’t like being visibly high while we go through the public world.  The HHC-O effect results from the cannabinoid’s interaction with cannabinoid receptors that control the moisture level of our eyes, so it’s not actually a cause for concern.

The Solution: Carry some saline eye drops, which are formulated specifically for dry eyes.  A couple of drops in each eye is all that you need to get the relief you’re looking for.

Side Effect #4: Grogginess

Feeling groggy/drowsy while high off of a cannabinoid is very common.  Cannabinoids work with neurotransmitters in the brain that regulate our energy levels, our mental clarity and alertness, and even our sleep/wake cycle, so it’s extremely normal to feel tempted by a deep urge to lay down and close your eyes.  Of course, this can be a problem if you’re trying to stay awake because you have something to do in a couple of hours.

The Solution: If taking a nap isn’t an option at that moment, grab some coffee or any other caffeinated beverage, ideally once the high starts to fade away.  This will give your nervous system the boost that it needs to feel alert, peppy, and energized.

Side Effect #5: Getting Too High

It happens to all of us – we take a bit more of a psychoactive cannabinoid than we intended to, and suddenly we’re feeling “too” high – maybe we start getting paranoid, anxious or claustrophobic, or feel dissociated from our bodies to a very uncomfortable extent.  Because HHC-O is pretty potent, it’s not all that hard to get higher than you had planned for.

The Solution: There are actually a few ways to deal with the uncomfortable sensation of being too high, and they all involve consuming something that jumpstarts your nervous system to “wake you up”.  Think a sweet snack, fruit juice or coffee, all of which get you back into a more alert, mentally clear state that can offset a lot of the cerebral effects that may make you feel uncomfortably “out of it”.

Side Effect #6: Dizziness/Lightheadedness

One of the effects of getting high off of HHC-O cannabinoids is that our blood pressure gets lower.  This isn’t to a dangerous extent, but those with a low tolerance may feel uncomfortable by what happens when their blood pressure gets lower, which can include feelings of dizziness or lightheadedness, and an increased heartrate.  They might also feel shaky or weak, develop a pale complexion or feel coldness in their extremities.

The Solution: Again, sugar is the way to go.  Low blood pressure can be quickly taken care of by consuming something sweet, like fruit juice or a sugary snack.  That’s because it brings up your blood sugar levels quickly, and your blood pressure will go up as a result.  It’s also the reason why you’re usually given something sugary after drawing blood.

These Side Effects Don’t Always Have to Stop You From Using HHC-O Again

Overall, HHC-O-Acetate is a gloriously psychoactive cannabinoid promising feelings of sweet euphoria, but sometimes that can come with some side effects, especially if you’re new to getting high.  The good news is that by following the directions on a product’s label, you can largely prevent any of these side effects from occurring.

Also, if you do experience any of these side effects, it’s recommended that you speak with your doctor, since they’re medically licensed to give you advice as to what you should then do.  And at Binoid, we make sure to offer clear instructions on all of our HHC-O formula labels, so that you’ll know exactly how much HHC-O you should take.
