How Do Cannabinoids Work?
To appreciate how THC-B works, we need to understand the relationship that all cannabinoids share with the body’s endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system is a system found in all mammals, and its job is to use cannabinoids to regulate individual processes of the body, with the overarching goal of bringing us into homeostasis.
Throughout the human body is a network of cannabinoid receptors, each one capable of regulating a distinctive process of bodily function, whether it be our sleep cycle, our mood, our inflammation levels, our pain tolerance, etc. Cannabinoid receptors are divided up into two categories: CB1 receptors, located in the nervous system, and CB2 receptors, located mainly in the nervous system, digestive system and immune systems. Some cannabinoids work more strongly with CB1 receptors, some work more strongly with CB2 receptors, and some work with both in a more balanced way.
When a cannabinoid is absorbed into the bloodstream, it binds to specific cannabinoid receptors, and this process enables the cannabinoid receptors to regulate specific processes that affect our body and mind. At the same time, specific cannabinoid receptors in the brain use cannabinoids to produce a psychoactive effect, and how strongly a particular cannabinoid attaches to those receptors determines the strength of the high, which explains why some cannabinoids are far more intoxicating than others.

What Effects Can THC-B Offer?
Like we’ve already pointed out, THC-B does have an intoxicating effect because of how it works with CB1 receptors in the brain. And, the high is reported to be stronger than delta 9 THC, but less intoxicating than THC-H, putting it likely somewhere in the middle. We don’t know exactly how strong the high is, or what the high is like just yet, because the cannabinoid is so rare on the market that there isn’t even a good amount of anecdotal evidence to reference.
Overall, scientific literature regarding THC-B is extremely limited. Basically, this means that we can’t use studies to claim that THC-B can help with specific effects. The one piece of information we do have is that the cannabinoid likely offers some level of both analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity to the body, which would indicate that it has some kind of impact on pain levels – something that it would share in common with most cannabinoids, if not all, that we know of so far, thanks to interactions with cannabinoid receptors that regulate both pain tolerance through the nervous system, and immune cells that are responsible for the body’s inflammatory response.
Final THC-B Working Thoughts
THC-B is a cannabinoid that we’re still learning about. But, at the very least, we can gain a good amount of insight into the unique nature of THC-B by understanding how it, along with all cannabinoids, works with the endocannabinoid system, to introduce a completely unique high along with other effects that can be hugely valuable.
