What Is THCH-O Acetate?

As our understanding of cannabis chemistry continues to evolve, we’re finding an influx of cannabinoids that’re being modified to finetune their effects and become all the more satisfying.  One such example is THCH-O, which is, in fact, THC-H (tetrahydrocannabihexol) blended with an acetate, to make it even more potent.

And, Because Binoid will star to introduce THCH-O products to the website, it’s time to take a deeper dive into this fascinating cannabis derivative, and also explore its properties.  Not to mention, its surprising usefulness in providing people with a shockingly effective high.

What Is THCH-O Acetate?

THCH-O is the acetate form of THC-H, meaning that an acetate has been added to the cannabinoid to enhance its potency, like how THC-O is made from THC.  THC-H is already a newcomer to the hemp market, and as is often the case, it means that there’s not a lot that we know about it just yet, other than the fact that it’s a naturally occurring cannabinoid found in the hemp plant which offers intoxicating effects to the user.

We don’t know when THCH-O was first invented, but we do know that THC-H is the second most potent cannabinoid in hemp, and THCH-O just exists as an even more powerful form of the cannabinoid.

What Are The Psychoactive Properties Of THCH-O?

Essentially, we still have a lot to learn about THCH-O, but what we do know is that its psychoactive properties are already making it extremely popular.  The high is probably comparable to that of THC-P (tetrahydrocannabiphorol), hemp’s most powerful intoxicant, given that THCH-O is just a stronger form of THC-H.

The key thing to recognize about THCH-O’s high is that it’s all about euphoria.  People notice a stronger feeling of euphoria than they’ve ever experienced with any other cannabinoid.  It’s also potentially very-long lasting, as we know that many other cannabinoid products provide only a short phase of euphoria that doesn’t last for the duration of the high.

Plus, along with the euphoria effect, users report a uniquely powerful body high that can be intensely relaxing, and great for easing physical tension.

What Are The Non-Psychoactive Properties Of THCH-O?

Again, since THCH-O is a very new addition, there has yet to be any research-based literature published on the nature of the cannabinoid.  While we know of its psychoactive potential from those who have used it, it’s harder to determine the non-psychoactive effects of the cannabinoid as they tend to be more subtle and cumulative, meaning that one may not feel these effects as potently as the intoxication associated with the compound.  But, we can make some safe assumptions given what we know about other THC compounds.

In general, THC compounds are known to offer effects that relate to mood, physical discomfort, appetite, and nausea, primarily.  This is something that we see consistently in other THC-oriented cannabinoids like delta 9 THC, delta 8 THC, and THC-P.  Still, there are some THC compounds that provide completely unique effects from others, like the potential blood sugar-regulating effects of THCV.  Basically, we hope to see studies on THCH-O in the future that show us its value beyond its ability to get us high. Not only does Binoid have the strongest THC-H vape carts on the market, their website is super easy to use and even offers fast, free shipping.

How Much THCH-O Should I Take?

There isn’t yet a standard dosing guide for it.  Given its strong potency, we can’t assume that you can compare the ideal milligram amount to that of, say, delta 8 THC even.  So, when it does come out, we recommend following the directions on the label.  The manufacturer is required to provide a dosing guideline based on their knowledge of how strong their product is.

THCH-O Dosage Chart And Guide:

As we learn more about THCH-O, we’ll have much more specific dosing guidelines available.  What we can say is that since the cannabinoid is so potent, you don’t want to take as many milligrams in one sitting as you would a milder cannabinoid like delta 8. Because PHC is so strong, doses look to be small amounts, but that is because of how strong the compound is.

Comparing THCH-O potency to other cannabinoids, however, we can offer a general idea of how much you should take whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced user, regardless of the product type that’s available above:
  • Beginners THCH-O dosing: 1mg-20mg
  • Intermediate THCH-O Users dosing: 20mg-80mg
  • Advanced THCH-O Users dosing: 80mg+
  •

Will THCH-O Fail A Drug Test?

As a rule of thumb, any time you encounter a cannabinoid with “THC” in the name, you should assume that it puts you at risk of failing a drug test.  Why?  Because all THC-based cannabinoids are metabolized by an enzyme called THC-COOH, which is what standard drug tests are seeking to identify in a person’s urine.

Because THCH-O is particularly potent and is very similar to Delta 9, there’s good reason to believe that it’s actually more likely to fail a drug test after taking this cannabinoid than it is after taking delta 9 THC.

    Is THCH-O Safe?

As for the safety of THCH-O Acetate, again we have no studies to refer to.  But, there’s no reason to believe it’s unsafe in any way.  THCH-O is structurally similar to many cannabinoids we’ve taken over the years, and to date, there has not been a single toxic compound found in the hemp plant, even in its isolated and concentrated form.  So, THCH-O likely comes with the same mild, temporary side effects as other forms of THC, which include:

    • Dry mouth
    • Dry eyes
    • Dizziness
    • Fatigue
    • Drowsiness
    • Impaired motor function

Can I Overdose on THCH-O Acetate?

We know that people want to be safe when taking a new cannabinoid, and lots of people feel somewhat hesitant about powerful cannabinoids like this.  Still, when it comes to side effects and all of that, you could encounter some.  Cannabinoids are classified as nontoxic to the body.  And, although we can likely tolerate high doses thanks to the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), you may need to avoid taking a high amount of THCH-O.  Why?  Because you could end up with side effects that aren’t life-threatening, but unpleasant regardless, such as:

    • Dizziness
    • Dry eyes
    • Dry mouth
    • Low blood pressure
    • Drowsiness

    Is THCH-O Legal?

THCH-O is, as you may have guessed based on other THC cannabinoids, fully legal in the U.S. under federal law (2018 Farm Bill).  This piece of legislation made all hemp derivatives legalized, assuming they contain no more than 0.3% delta 9 THC by dry weight.

Still, as you probably suspected, THCH-O is banned in the same states that have banned all the other THC-based goods, as these states are the following:

    • Alaska
    • Arizona
    • Arkansas
    • Colorado
    • Delaware
    • Hawaii (oral and inhalable products)
    • Idaho
    • Iowa
    • Mississippi
    • Montana
    • Nevada
    • New York
    • North Dakota
    • Oregon
    • Rhode Island
    • Utah
    • Vermont
    • Washington

Types Of Products That THCH-O Comes In

THCH-O is incredibly new to the market, and so the large majority of hemp companies don’t yet carry it.  And, the variety of product types is quite limited at the moment, again because it’s so new.  Here are the product types you’ll find when searching for THCH-O.

      • THCH-O Vape Cartridges: THCH-O vape cartridges are not unlike the vape carts that many hemp users are already familiar with.  These 510-threaded cartridges come in different strains and use a vape oil containing pure THCH-O-acetate isolate along with terpenes.
      • THCP-O TincturesTHCH-O tinctures will also likely emerge, diluting the cannabinoid extract in a carrier oil and offering a variety of milligram strengths for sublingual administration.
      • THCH-O GummiesGummies remain extremely popular, and THCH-O gummies will almost definitely hit the market, offering longer-lasting effects than other products due to how they absorb through the digestive process.

THCH-O: Stronger Than THC-H & Worth The Hype

Overall, THCH-O is an incredibly new cannabinoid – even newer than THC-H – and the thing that acts as the key takeaway is that this is a powerful cannabinoid, made specifically for those who want the most profound, euphoric high possible.  As it makes its way onto the hemp market, keep an eye out for it if its intensity appeals to you, and remember, look for lab reports to always know that you’re getting the finest THCH-O quality possible.
